A STORY OF CENSORSHIP AT THE N.Y. TOAST
HOW THE POST IS HELPING DRUG TRAFFICKERS AND HELPING HILLARY (“THE PILLORY”) CLINTON

During the month of January, 2005, having been on the receiving end of death threats from racists and drug traffickers, primarily located at or near Project Hospitality, a drop-in center for homeless people in Staten Island and a powder-keg of racism and drug activity, I called the paper which specializes in coverage of crime and Paris Hilton, the N.Y. Post. I spoke to various reporters (Pope, McCrea, Bullit, et. al.) at the news desk, all of whom expressed considerable interest in my information. When mentioned that I do not like to keep hidden agendas and that I am in fact a candidate in the 2006 Democratic Primary against Hillary (“The Pillory”) Clinton, I was advised by several news desk reporters to make certain to communicate with Gregg Birnbaum, the paper’s political editor.

I did so and in later January spoke to Birnbaum by phone. He expressed astonishment at learning of my candidacy – and almost had a seizure over the phone when I told him that I am not running against her from the right side of the political spectrum, but rather from the small “d” democratic left. He asked me to submit my paperwork, which includes a June 29, 1990 story by jazz writer Chip Deffaa about me. On January 25, 2005, I brought a pile of documents – including news stories about me from The Times, Newsday, the Daily News, the Binghamton Press& Sun Bulletin, the now defunct Downtown Magazine, as well as a wealth of documents proving that Hillary Clinton had joined her husband, former Secretary of State Warren Christopher, media shill George Stephanopoulos, and a host of other high officials in what amounts to a conspiracy of silence about the Chinese Communist Genocide in Occupied Tibet. The material was signed for by a reporter named Gallagher.

Since that time, Birnbaum, who has not had the professional courtesy to acknowledge receipt of the material, has seen fit to print not one centimeter of the story, preferring to insult the Post’s readership with major developments as the earthshaking question to whether Perv Paris Hilton’s cell phone contains the phone number of – perhaps – “50 Cent” (not worth a dime musically or culturally as far as I – among millions of other real music lovers – am concerned) or a host of other negative role models. Remember, the Post, a property of Rupert Murdock’s News Corporation, prides itself on exposing immorality in our national life.

In the absence of any response from Birnbaum to a few messages left, I contacted Mr. Murdoch’s N.Y.C. office and spoke to his secretary Marilyn Strackey. Ms. Strakey was most cordial and expressed some frustration over the situation but acknowledged that she was in no position to direct Birnbaum to print the story. She did, however, agree to my request that she e-mail Birnbaum and request copies of my documents for Mr. Murdoch’s examination. As of my recent call to her, she reported that Birnbaum had not responded to her request. My last call to her revealed that he had told her that he did not wish to “discuss” the matter with me. Well, I most certainly do not want to “discuss” the matter with him. I am only interested in knowing to which reporter he is assigning the story. I called Birnbaum and spoke to him for a very few seconds, long enough for him to scream something unintelligible into the phone and hang up. Calls to Post publisher Carl Allen’s office yielded nothing more than friendly conversation with two pleasant female staffers but, needless to say, no return call of e-mail.

This is a classic example of why the New York Toast is considered by many – from one end of the political spectrum to the other – to be nothing more than an arm of the corpocracy that is undermining the democracy so many Americans have died for. And, In Birnbaum’s refusal to print my stories, the Post is also helping the drug traffickers. Lovely. The Post – no matter how many sensationalistic they write about the King Canute of the Civil Rights establishment Al Sharpton, or how many meaningless exposes they write about the Caligula of New York State government, also known as George Pataki – is Rupert Murdoch’s travesty of a newspaper. The Toast is without a doubt one of the worst newspapers ever printed, perhaps rivaling in its slav-ness to an oppressive political and economic establishment Adolf Hitler’s Volkischer Beobachter.

Gregg (“The Undertaker”) Birnbaum is a disgrace to democratic journalism and has brought a once energetic and muckraking paper down into the mire populated by negative role models like Snoop Dogg, Perv Paris Hilton, and, last and least, Hillary Rodham Clinton. The late James Wechsler and other one time Post journalists must be spinning in their graves – as “The Undertaker” soils their cemeteries with living stories.
